Clinical Psychologist

I am a registered clinical psychologist who specialises in Forensic Psychology and Occupational Health Psychology. I am based in Wellington; however, I have travelled to several destinations in New Zealand and overseas to provide clinical psychological opinions. The services that I provide are as follows:

Forensic Psychology

Psychological Assessment Reports in relation to the following areas:

  • Risk of reoffending.
  • Fitness to stand trial.
  • Presentence assessments.
  • Preventive detention.
  • Psychopathy.
  • Intellectual functioning. I have been designated a specialist assessor by the Ministry of Health pursuant to the Intellectual Disability (Compulsory Care and Rehabilitation) Act 2003.
  • Psychological competence of witnesses.

Occupational Health Psychology

The services that I provide in this area rely on the application of clinical psychology principles to the workplace. I am particularly interested in the consequences of work-related trauma/stress or occupational ill health. Consequences may include posttraumatic stress disorder, reactive depression, burnout, emotional exhaustion, alcohol and drug difficulties, and relationship difficulties. I am also interested in the prevention of these difficulties and the recovery from these difficulties. Generally, I am interested in the psychological wellness in the workplace. Services that I offer in this area include:

  • Training programmes to enhance wellness in the workplace.
  • Critical incident support.
  • Review and independent advice re EAP services.
  • Professional supervision.
  • Psychological assessments to see if an individual is psychologically fit to work.
  • Training programmes designed to reduce possible consequences of work-related stress/trauma or work-related ill health.
  • Individual programmes to assist in the recovery of staff members suffering psychological difficulties.
